Sound the trumpet and open the gate as Milken welcomes the cast of this spring’s annual musical, Spamalot. Based on the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical follows King Arthur on his quest to find the Holy Grail with the help of fellow knights and the Lady of the Lake.

Robert Menna, director, described the musical as “some of the silliest humor ever.” This includes accents, levitation, comical violence, horsemanship, dancing, singing, and audience interaction. The musical is filled with fun surprises such as a special appearance by Mr. Jerry Martin, English teacher.

Menna mentioned that the show also includes one of the funniest songs about Jews. Ever.

The principal roles in Spamalot include King Arthur (Benny Pitt ‘14), Lady of the Lake (Emma Peretz ‘14), Patsy (Anina Dassa ‘14), Robin (Tiffany Maddahi ‘15), Galahad (Evan Mateen ‘16), and Lancelot (Jonah Schatz ‘13).

“This year is going to be a really fun show. We have a lot of different talented members and the show has a lot of funny aspects,” Anina Dassa said.

The production week will be from March 3rd to March 10th. Tickets will be sold closer to opening night and can be purchased online through the Milken website.
